We are looking for a Science Graduate Apprentice to teach in January 2025. Our teachers lead instruction and planning for subject- or grade-level classrooms and are responsible for driving a rigorous, enquiry-based learning environment the Nova Pioneer way. Teachers are supported by Deans of Instruction who partner with them in their growth journey - working full-time to empower teachers development by observing lessons and providing consistent feedback and coaching. See below to learn more about the teaching model at Nova Pioneer..Key responsibilities for the role include:Teaching Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging and effective lessons in Grade 8 Science (Physics, Chemistry and Biology), adhering to the Cambridge curriculum and standard.
• Develop and implement 5E lesson plans that foster a stimulating learning environment.
• Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and support to help students achieve their academic goals.
• Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of teaching resources and strategies.

Laboratory Technician Duties:

• Assist in the preparation, setup, and maintenance of laboratory equipment and materials for experiments.
• Conduct and oversee laboratory experiments, ensuring safety protocols are followed and assisting students as needed.
• Manage inventory of laboratory supplies and equipment, including ordering and stock control.
• Support the development and improvement of laboratory practices and procedures.

Professional Development:

• Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching skills and laboratory expertise.
• Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to a positive and productive educational environment.

About YouSkills and Qualifications required:Educational Qualifications:

• Recent graduate with a degree in Science or a closely related field.
• Added advantage if you have Cambridge experience in any of the science subjects accompanied by Lab experience.

Experience and Skills:

• Demonstrated experience with lab experiments and laboratory technician responsibilities.
• Familiarity with the Cambridge curriculum, particularly at the Grade 8 level.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to student success.
• Ability to teach general science.

Personal Attributes:

• Enthusiastic and passionate about teaching and science education.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and build positive relationships with students and staff.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a safe and effective learning environment.

• Valid Police Clearance (no older than 6 months)
