3rd Line Network Support Engineer Networking - IT
Johannesburg - Gauteng - South Africa, RemoteAre you the ultimate data center support detective? A troubleshooting maestro with a knack for unraveling complex technical mysteries?   • Ensure stability, performance, and security of the network
  • Perform and lead tasks associated with Service Request and Incident Management Processes.
  • Perform and lead lifecycle management / change management activities
  • Perform and lead root cause analysis (RCA) and Problem management activities.
  • Guide other support staff in performing their tasks
  • Work with senior engineers from other domains (e.g. compute, storage, applications)
  • Ensure high level of quality of documentation.
  • Contribute to service, architecture and/or design reviews and optimization activities
  • Represent Network team towards external customers and/or internal LoBs and/or vendors
  • Selected members act as Shift Lead / Escalation Manager*
Skills:Experience
  • Minimum 6-8 years relevant experience in a senior network engineer role, at least 3 years in data center environments
Technical Skills
  • Ability to solve complex infrastructure issues, together with senior engineers of other technical domains
  • Ability to lead a team of other engineers
  • Ability to ensure high quality of submitted change requests and associated implementations of complex changes
  • Implementation including associated risk assessments and mitigation strategies.
  • Working on monitoring/orchestrator tools
  • Knowledge of security aspects on systems
Other Skills:
  • Profound ITIL knowledge, ability to guide/coach others
  • Working via a standard ITSM tools
  • Good communication skills, Technical & Business English (spoken & written)
  • Positive, proactive, and customer-focused attitude
  • Ability to learn quickly, willingness to comply with procedural guidelines
  • Technology Certification(s) CCNP/CCDE preferred.
  • ITIL certification/s
  • experience in a customer facing engineering role
