Duties and Responsibilities:
Installation of electricity Smart Metering instruments, within a Utilities Management role as well as Non-Utilities, Single bulk check metering installations and Solar environments.
A knowledge of the common industry metering instruments
To aid in reviewing of work orders and procurement process, to verify specifications of wire sizes, metering equipment and communications equipment needed in order to implement the most accurate, cost effective and reliable solution
The assembly of Smart Metering panels required for all metering installations.
Continuously look at innovative ways to improve on panel design and implement cost effective ways of assembling panels.
All panels to be built to the SANS101.42-1 standard.
To implement the accurate installation of electricity smart metering equipment in order to conduct effective and accurate electricity management and measurement.
To be able to follow strict processes and completion of mandatory checklists and signoff documentation, critical to quality control and safety compliance.
To conduct metering and instrument verifications in order to troubleshoot experienced anomalies in sub billing or energy management, as well as implementing ad hoc metering fixes, with the goal of always ensuring the most accurate information is being made available to end users.
To review and aid with the compilation of all Health and Safety documentation for all projects and submission and for approval and sign-off to the AC Manager and 16.2, before commencement of any electrical work.
The candidate must be able to travel across South Africa, as well as work out of normal office hours.
Thorough Knowledge of Safety Standards, LOTTO and HIRA in essential.
