Direct Reporting Line:Head AcademicVega School is an educational brand of The Independent Institute of Education (The IIE). The IIE enjoys the reputation of being at the forefront of private higher education in South Africa and is registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) to provide higher education qualifications accredited by the Council on Higher Education (CHE).The IIE's Vega, Cape Town Campus has a vacancy for a Part-Time Academic Navigator (Lecturer) for the second semester in the following module:

• Digital And Academic Literacies

Job Purpose:

• Lecture based on provided content, ensure students are guided and supported in their learning. Mark student submissions and engage with campus teaching and learning.

Key Performance Areas:

• Prepare for lectures based on provided content. Supplement content with own expertise. Deliver assigned modules to the stated outcomes and contracted hours. Mark student assessments and provide constructive feedback. Support student academic success by implementing workshops where needed. Perform academic admin, such as capturing assessment marks and reporting on student success. Provide content feedback. Engage with professional development opportunities and attend initial training sessions.

Minimum Qualification Requirements: Ideal

• At least a 3-year degree in a Humanities/Social Sciences/Law/Education/Finance/Management field, with one or more of these Majors: English, Communication, Media, Psychology, Criminology, Sociology, Law, Didactics, Management, or Economics.

Minimum Work Experience Requirements:

• At least 2 years' experience lecturing/tutoring in a tertiary institution. The candidate must have worked within a tertiary institution so that they understand the tertiary student experience and expectations, to be able to provide the level of academic support and guidance required by this foundational module.
