About the job Account ManagerPosition Summary:Responsible for the overall servicing of their client(s). Represent the agency on a day-to-day basis and are they key, trusted points of contact for mid-level clients. Know how to develop effective strategies and briefs that lead to strong creative output. Hold productive agency and client meetings and be a solid communicator who present persuasive POVs and champion great creative work. Interrogate every client brief and assignment and strive to solve larger business problems, not just the requests at hand. Act courageously and with conviction and collaborate well with all capabilities and disciplines within the business unit.Heres what youll bring to the table:

  • 4 6 years experience working inside a collaborative or marketing agency with at least 2 different client experiences and ideally expertise in 2 disciplines (B2B, B2C, retail, digital, CPG (consumer packaged goods), tech, etc.)
  • Demonstrable knowledge of client and agency operations and working knowledge of Ogilvys matrix of disciplines and capabilities (i.e. for scoping and timing plan purposes)
  • Thoughtful and understanding of digital advertising, complex and fragmented media landscape.
  • An appreciation for how great work gets done and a commitment to ensuring creative excellence and output.
  • Team orientated, with strong communication, relationship and interpersonal skills.
  • Be able to maintain and build Client relationships.
  • Solid commercial acumen and demonstrates broad understanding using cost-benefit thinking to set priorities.
  • Strong negotiation and selling skills
  • Understanding of Consumer, Vodacom Data and ability to help apply Consumer insights to optimize work
  • A good listener, someone who reads people and those in a room well

  • An accountable and confident advisor and or trail blazer.
Heres what youll be doing to lead Agency and Client growth - Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Immerse in the essential dynamics, strategies, and drivers of clients business.
  • Putting your clients first, interfacing regularly with those in mid-level positions and constantly hunting for solutions that are innovative and appropriate.
  • Interfacing regularly with PM, creative, and strategy teams, and keeping them, all informed, focused, and enthused about the work and the client business.
  • Communicating changes to plans and working closely with PMs to ensure budget and project recalibration.
  • Solid knowledge and understanding TTL processs including Digital output.
  • Contributing to the development of business reporting and offering a lens into the clients competitive environment through competitive analysis and presentations.
  • Staying current on industry trends and campaigns and bringing outside thinking to your clients in this new Digital & Retail age.
  • Demonstrating a thorough knowledge of the dynamics of your clients business and helping the agency navigate them, by being pro-active.
  • Planning the meeting, ensuring preparation for every meeting so the work is enthusiastically accepted.
  • Initiating thought leadership projects that enhance our reputation and add value to our clients business.
  • Demonstrating strong collaboration skills with internal and external teams and building strong links with them.
  • Acting as an open and willing resource to team members in assessing ideas and directions.
  • Participating in the presentation and selling through of work by supporting Strategy and Creative teams.
  • Consistently helping to deliver flawless creative execution, by knowing what is considered Creative excellence.
