Job Description

To ensure the efficient planning, organizing, control and general supervison of duties of staff in the accounts payable branch.
Key Responsibility AreasSupervising of the accounts payable section.Undertaking branch administration and control.Producing and compiling quartely supplier top 20 report in terms of legislation to Exco and Province.Procucing report of vouchered invoices by investigating unposted batches there after taking appropriate action to ensure that payment is made.Producing report of receipted purchases that have not been vouchered, investigate, and take appropriate action to ensure payment is made.Signing authority in terms of Councils delegated authority for documents / correspondence pertaining to Accounts Payable, approvals early settlement under special circumstannces.Releasing payments due to supplier for payments.Undertaking special investigation on an ad hoc basis (including investigating and resolving audit queries), prepare reports there to authorise and initiate special investigations in respect of overdue accounts and related problems.Attending to supplier's queries and disputes.

Essential RequirementsTertiary qualifications (NQF Level 7) in Accounting or equivalent with Financial Accounting as a major subject.Valid motor vehicle driving license.3 Years relevant experience.Computer Literacy.
Preferred Requirements4 Years relevant experience.
