Minimum requirements for the role:

• A bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or related field is essential for this role.
• The successful candidate would have completed their articles.
• Must have a solid understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
• Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Xero, Pastel, Sage Payroll, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Knowledge of tax laws and compliance regulations is a plus.
• Experience with payroll processing is preferred.
• Familiarity with financial analysis and cost accounting is pref.
• Previous experience having worked within a fund management industry is a plus but not essential.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Working closely with management within a financial team attending to financial records, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and supporting the company's financial operations as well as maintaining compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
• Preparing and maintaining accurate financial records, including general ledger entries and trial balances.
• Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely invoicing and payment collection.
• Assisting in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements).
• Conducting reconciliations of bank accounts and credit card statements.
• Monitoring and analysing financial data to identify discrepancies and suggest corrective actions.
• Assisting with budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Ensuring compliance with tax regulations and assist with tax filings. (VAT, PAYE, SSC, NTA, income tax).
• Ensuring compliance with industry regulations and assist with related filings. (NAMFISA, BIPA).
• Supporting internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and reports.
