A well-established Company that provides flexographic and lithographic packaging solutions is seeking a skilled and experienced Accountant to join their dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree in Accounting or a related field, with a minimum of 5-7 years of practical accounting experience. The successful candidate will play a vital role in managing financial transactions, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations. Proficiency in various accounting software is a must for this role.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Complete full bookkeeping function to monthly trial balance on Pastel Partner level 12 accounting system. This will be done on a monthly basis in conjunction with the company auditors. This includes month end stock taking.
• VIP monthly payroll, including wage calculations with overtime, loans and monthly salaries / wages.
• Creditors complete reconciliation on all supplier invoices, delivery notes and company purchase orders.
• Complete debtors reconciliation and collections of outstanding payments. Liaison with debtors accounts departments to ensure on time payments.
• All Statutory returns including VAT reconciliation, PAYE submissions, UIF submissions, SDL, Workmans Compensation, SARS. E filing of all of the above on time.
• Bank reconciliations, and all journal entries
• Maintenance of Assets Journal including depreciation calculations
• Compilation, maintenance and updating of Excel spreadsheets.
• Monthly Financial reports as required.
• Petty cash reconciliation and management.
• General duties to company directors

• Reside in Midrand or neighbouring areas
• Proficient in English and Afrikaans
• Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) in Accounting or a related field is required.
• Have at least 3 years experience, including on the software mentioned above
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., VIP, Payroll, Pastel) is essential.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Solid understanding of budgeting and financial forecasting.
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
• High level of integrity and professionalism.
• Certification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) is a plus
