Job Description


Purpose of the Job:
Maintain accurate financial and tax reporting while managing and implementing accounting and reporting controls.Key Responsibilities:Reporting and Controls:

  • Prepare annual financial statements for various companies.
  • Prepare and submit IT14s on e-filing.
  • Prepare and submit provisional tax returns.
  • Reconcile and submit VAT and Withholding Tax returns for South African and foreign entities.
  • Assist in compiling annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Review bank reconciliations monthly.
  • Process monthly general journal entries and consolidation entries.
  • Manage and review trial balances for all reporting entities.
  • Reconcile general ledgers and sub-ledgers monthly and prepare balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Compile/review monthly management accounts.
  • Perform month-end and year-end accounts system closures.
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors.
  • Review and authorize payments on the banking system (FNB online).
  • Develop, monitor, review, and implement internal accounting and related policies.
Qualifications and Experience:Qualifications:
  • B.Com Honours or Bachelor's degree in Accounting (B.Com).
  • Articles will be advantageous.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience in an accounting/reporting role.
  • Staff management experience will be advantageous.
Knowledge:
  • Extensive knowledge of computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, MS Office, and experience with a known accounting package.
  • Cognos experience will be advantageous.
  • CaseWare experience.
  • Draftworx experience.
