:DescriptionWe are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our team in Kimberley, Northern Cape. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management and accounting practices, along with the ability to ensure compliance with local regulations. The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, and providing insightful analysis to support decision-making processes. Your expertise will play a crucial role in driving the financial performance of our company.We also have a vacancy for an in-house accountant. This person will form part of our administrative personnel and will be responsible for the accounting tasks in our company, as well as other administrative tasks.Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain financial statements and reports in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
  • Conduct regular reconciliations of bank statements and general ledger accounts.
  • Perform month-end closing processes and ensure timely completion of financial reporting.
  • Provide analysis and interpretation of financial data to assist in budget preparation and forecasting.
  • Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits and provide necessary documentation.
  • Stay updated with changes in financial regulations and accounting standards.
  • Mentor and train junior accounting staff as required.
Requirements
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance; additional certifications such as PA(SA) and CA(SA) are preferred.
  • 3-7 years of relevant experience in accounting or financial management.
  • Strong knowledge of South African accounting standards (SAGAAP) and taxation laws.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
  • Membership in SAICA, SAIPA, or a related field is advantageous.
