We have an exciting opportunity available for an Accountant in our Finance team.Futuregrowth is committed to transformation. A strong preference will be given to suitably qualified previously disadvantaged candidates.Purpose of the positionThe accountant role is a dynamic one with a multitude of responsibilities within the Finance team and includes future growth potential.Key responsibilities of the position

• Preparing and maintaining financial records and documents accurately and timeously;
• Responsibility for accounting processes and tasks (payments/fees/general ledger/ account reconciliations);
• Co-ordinating and liaising with internal parties to support intercompany activities;
• Monitoring and analysing financial data to identify discrepancies;
• Preparing/assisting with the preparation of financial and departmental reports/budgets/annual financial statements;
• Assisting with the preparation of company taxes; and
• Ensuring compliance with regulations and guidelines affecting the finances of the company.

Skills, know-how and experience:

• Solid knowledge of IFRS16 and accounting principles and practices; and
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel, and an advantage if able to work with Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) and Great Plains.

Technical/ professional qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting with Post Graduate Diploma or Honours in Accounting or similar; and
• Completed articles or with at least 3-5 yearsxe2x80x99 work experience in a similar role in the financial sector.
