As the Accounting Manager - Operations you will supervise the daily functions of the accounting department, including managing Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, and Inventory. You will be responsible for improving the ERP control environment, general ledger, and financial reporting processes. This role is vital for producing accurate and timely financial information and ensuring strict compliance with accounting principles, procedures, and legislation. • Oversee daily Accounting team operations for accurate processing in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Inventory, and Fixed Assets
• Ensure adherence to banking procedures for payments and collections with strict control over platforms
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting in Oracle NetSuite, covering transaction processing, reconciliations, analysis, and financial statement commentary
• Maintain detailed reporting documentation, including schedules and explanations for major transactions or adjustments
• Oversee team performance, skills development, succession planning, talent management, and culture to ensure high efficiency
• Contribute to accounting policies and procedures in coordination with Group Reporting and Revenue Assurance
• Provide required information for tax, audit, and other external reporting
• Collaborate with FP&A Lead and Treasury Manager on budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and cash flow decisions
• Work with Legal, Risk, and IT teams on purchasing, vendor onboarding, contract management, and renewals
• Offer insights and recommendations to align financial reporting with budgeting, support cost-reduction initiatives, and optimize resource allocation
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, principles, and procedures, recommending improvements as needed
• Monitor and analyse accounting data to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial records

Job Experience & Skills Required:Qualifications:

• Matric (Grade 12)
• BCom Accounting
• Professional Accounting certification (SAICA, SAIPA, CIMA, ACCA etc) complete or in process is essential

Experience:

• Completed articles within in well recognized audit firm
• 4 / 6 years proven experience as an Accounting Manager in a financial department
• Experience in a tech company would be advantageous
• 3 years of current team management experience is essential
• Advanced Excel, Google Suite, and ERP (Oracle Netsuite preferred) skills with a solid ability to adapt to new technologies and systems
• Strong proficiency in leveraging automation tools and technologies to streamline processes and improve efficiency
• Experience reporting in multiple currencies and managing multiple entities

Skills & Competencies:

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration across all departments and organizational levels
• Extensive knowledge of bookkeeping, accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations
• Proven leadership abilities, capable of managing and guiding teams to adhere to financial processes
• Adaptable and experienced in the dynamic fintech landscape, with a background in financial services products
• Detail-oriented with a track record of providing timely and reliable financial management information for decision-making
