Job Description

The African Union Development Agency invites applicants who are citizens of African Union Member States for the post of

Accounts Assistant - Cashier.




Under the supervision of the Senior Finance Officer: Treasury, the Accounts Assistant - Cashier will be Managing the cash office operations, handling travel advances, overseeing petty cash management, and supporting treasury functions to ensure timely and accurate financial transactions.


Required Skills and Competencies




Ability to perform multiple tasks and work under pressure with a wide range of individuals and institutions. High level of diplomacy and the ability to display discretion and respect for confidentiality. Excellent attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate well with others both verbally and in writing and build relationships across different stakeholders. Ability to provide high levels of internal and external customer service. Competent in standard software (Word, Excel, and Power Point) and ERP systems (SAP) - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment. Excellent communication skills. Good planning and organizational skills. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Education and Experience

Education:


Candidates must have a National Diploma in Accounting, Financial Management, or a related field with five (5) years of relevant work experience in finance, accounting or treasury within public sector institutions or similar organizations nationally, regionally, and/or internationally.


Experience:


+ Relevant experience in handling and managing a cash office. + Practical experience in Foreign Currency management.
+ Experience in travel and mission plan management.
+ Experience in travel advances.
+ Experience in managing cash.
+ Advanced knowledge in SAP or similar ERP and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel is required.

Remuneration:




An indicative basic salary of US$15,758.00 per annum plus other entitlements such as post adjustment, housing allowance, education allowance and pension (19% of basic salary) among others in conformity with the rules and procedures applicable to internationally recruited staff of the African Union.
