Our client in the Logistics Sector is seeking an Accounts Assistant, who will be responsible for providing support to the Accounts Clerks / Accounts Supervisor, to join their team.Location: Port Elizabeth/ GqeberthaJob type: On siteDuties and Responsibilities

• Processing and Reconciliation of Cashbooks (local and multi-currency)
• Processing of monthly journals
• Processing, Importing and Distribution of Customer Invoices and Statements

daily / weekly / monthly

• Checking accounts / general ledger for month end reporting
• Providing assistance to the Accounts Team when required
• Creating new Debtors on systems
• Checking Debtors Age Analysis and following up where necessary
• Provide monthly feedback to Accounts Supervisor on Debtor Ageing for reporting to MD
• Processing and Importing of Supplier Invoices
• Creating new Suppliers on systems
• Process Purchase Orders when required
• Reconciliation of Supplier Statements
• Checking Suppliers Age Analysis
• Completing Supplier Credit Application Forms
• Processing of Payments on both accounting system and bank
• Perform General Office tasks including, but not limited to, keeping office organised, filing of documents, arranging purchase of monthly cleaning/refreshments
• Updating/assisting with Fixed Assets Register
• Assist with Insurance Claims
• Assist Colleagues on other Accounting Functions when necessary

Minimum Requirements

• Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage Pastel Evolution 200, Shipshape & Excel.
• Above average understanding of fundamental accounting principles and practices
