Job Description


JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Engage in the short-term planning and performance of tasks against work plans as defined in conjunction with the supervisor.
  • Perform work independently within the established practices, given processes, rules and regulations, ensuring compliance with the set standards, policies and other guidelines.
  • Identify, evaluate and solve defined, routine and new problems within a familiar context.
  • Perform general accounting duties and reconciliations in accordance with the accounting and the business policies, relevant accounting standards and applicable legislation.
  • Prepare and provide information related to transactions within a defined context to relevant stakeholders.
  • Perform general administration tasks, including the preparation of payment instructions, data capturing and record-keeping to ensure the smooth running of operations in financial services.
  • Create and maintain consistent metadata in a manner that allows for a clear and unambiguous data element definition and meets legislative, quality and security requirements.
  • Engage with the relevant stakeholders/clients within the business and external parties, displaying a service orientation in own work and the ability to handle basic queries and explain information fluently.
  • Proactively broaden own knowledge of the functional area, displaying a willingness to make improvements in your own work (including methods and practices).
  • Evaluate own performance against the given criteria and identify and address task-specific learning needs.
JOB REQUIREMENT
  • A minimum of a National Diploma in Accounting (NQF 6) or an equivalent qualification
  • Six months to two years working experience in a financial environment, specifically in accounting.
