Job Description

Well established BBBEE Level 1 company based in Midrand is seeking to employ an experienced Accounts and Admin Officer to join their team.

The Accounts and Admin Officer will champion a vast range of Accounting and Administration functions with diligence and absolute attention to detail.

Main duties



Financial Transaction Recording and Reporting

Process invoices, receipts, payments, and other financial transactions accurately and promptly. Record financial transactions in the accounting system. Prepare financial reports including Annual Financial Statements, Management Accounts, Income Statements, Balance Sheets, Cash Flow Statements, Asset Register, and Depreciation. Assist in budget preparation and monitor budgetary performance. Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making processes. Ensure all transactions comply with relevant accounting standards and regulations.

Accounts Receivable and Payable Management

Generate customer invoices and statements. Monitor outstanding payments and follow up with clients for timely collections. Manage accounts payable including verifying and processing invoices, reconciling statements, and managing vendor payments within terms.

Bank Reconcilliation

Reconcile bank statements with the company's financial records to ensure accuracy. Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to bank transactions.

Budgeting and Forecasting

Assist in preparing budgets by providing financial data and analysis. Monitor budgetary performance and compare actual expenses against budgets. Provide input for financial forecasting and planning processes.

Tax Compliance

Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations. Calculate VAT and submit PAYE accurately and on time. Prepare IRP5, EMP501, EMP201, UIF declarations, and respond to tax practitioner inquiries during audits.

Administration

Insurance policy administration. Oversee day-to-day administrative operations. Manage office supplies and coordinate meetings and events. Serve as a point of contact for finance and administration inquiries. Support project managers with administrative tasks. Providing administrative support to senior management, including scheduling meetings, and making travel arrangements.

Procurement and Purchasing

Participate in the procurement process from requisition to payment processing.

Qualifications and Experience

Degree or Diploma in finance, accounting, management, or administration

(NON-NEGOTIABLE)

Served articles of clerkship (advantage)

3 years' experience in a similar role

(NON-NEGOTIABLE)

2 years' experience in using Pastel

(NON-NEGOTIABLE)

Experience in the Construction, Civil, and/or Engineering industry (advantage)
