Job Description
Our client is a well-known retailer looking for a highly talented Accounts Payable Team Leader/Manager to join their Finance Team in Cape Town. They are a dynamic, hyper growth company seeking someone with AP experience at a very large scale.Responsibilities:
- Supervise, train and mentor a team of accounts payable specialists.
- Oversee the timely and accurate processing of invoices, statement reconciliations and payments
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Maintain strong working relationships with vendors, negotiate payment terms and handle disputes effectively.
- Ensure vendor accounts are reconciled accurately and resolutions are executed on for outstanding items
- Collaborate with IT and other departments to enhance AP systems.
- Develop and maintain internal controls and procedures and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Prepare detailed reports regarding AP metrics for senior management.
- Monthly reporting on all Ballance sheet control
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounts payable, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Retail industry experience
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficient in AP software and systems
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
