SPLs business, vision and mission, with Learning for sustainable African futures as its slogan, can best be understood and summarised as serving public value in an African context.The goal is to provide teaching and administrative support to the programme leader, the lecturers and the students in the Advanced Diploma in Public Accountability and the Postgraduate Diploma in Public Financial Management at the Bellville Park Campus.Duties:This position coordinates the academic administration processes, liaising with high-level networks and various forms of e-learning relating to students and staff in the Advanced Diploma in Public Accountability and the Postgraduate Diploma in Public Financial Management.Responsibilities include:Drafting and coordinating annual schedules and handling logistics related to contact weeks (local, national and international), online and telematics classes, e-tutoring, assignments, examinations and reporting;Providing administrative support for student registration, the recognition of prior learning (RPL) process, students portfolios of evidence, student orientation, student pre-testing, answering student queries relating to academic administration, and appropriate referrals with regard to programme-related issues;Supporting students and academic staff in the use of the e-learning platform and other interactive learning mediums, providing administrative support to keep module content up to date and extract reports from the e-learning platform (for example, Turnitin reports), and general troubleshooting on the e-learning platform;Liaising with academic staff and coordinating the production of course material, such as workbooks, ordering and distributing textbooks and electronic course material, and producing and distributing pre-recordings of video material, etc.;Coordinating assessments, including the processing of marks, and internal and external moderation;Supporting the programme leaders and lecturers of the two programmes with, for example, financial administration and programme reporting;Coordinating the marketing of the two programmes, including updating the database, liaising with high-level networks, liaising with prospective students, responding to general queries relating to the two programmes, and specific marketing events and initiatives.Requirements:Given the specific nature of the programme presentation, the following requirements are applicable:A bachelors degree or equivalent qualification, with public and development management as an added advantage;Experience with implementing higher education institution policies and processes relating to the administration and support of these programmes;Experience in working with and administration of an online learner management system;At least three years experience in programme administration support in a higher education environment;Computer literacy and proficiency in MS Office, including Excel;A valid drivers licence;Being prepared and able to travel within South Africa to support off-campus programme delivery;Excellent written and verbal skills in business English;Good organisational skills with attention to detail and effective management of interpersonal relations;The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines;The ability to show initiative and flexibility;Must be reliable, have integrity and demonstrate professionalism.Recommendations:Experience in using social media for marketing;Fluency in other official South African languages.
