The UWC Writing Centre is located within DLTSS. Its primary goals are:
1) to assist students with improving their academic writing, and
2) to provide support to academic staff as they develop strategies to build academic reading and writing development into their courses.
The Writing Centre strives to provide a warm and welcoming environment for students to receive help with their writing.An opportunity currently exists for candidates to apply for the position of Administrative Officer to provide the administrative support to the work of Writing Centre in fulfilling its mandate to enhance learning, teaching and student success at UWC.Reporting to the Teaching and Learning Specialist, the appointee's duties will include, but not be limited to the administration and execution of the following tasks:

  • Academic administration,
  • Financial administration,
  • Reception and general office administration,
  • Record-keeping and data management,
  • Marketing and communication,
  • Meeting administration.
Minimum Requirements
  • Grade 12 and a relevant three-year post-matric qualification, plus two years' relevant experience,
OR Matric plus three to five years' relevant experience,
  • Proficiency in UWC administrative systems.
The following would be advantageous:
  • A Bachelor's or PG degree
