At Daimler Truck Financial Services South Africa (DTFS SA), we pride ourselves on our reputation for service excellence and our care in providing flexible, innovative and tailor-made finance and insurance solutions.Job OverviewTo administer, monitor, manage and report on the Daimler Truck Financial Services tracing and repossession portfolios for commercial vehicles on the live, terminated, and matured portfolios within prescribed policies and procedures to reduce the delinquency rate and minimizing credit losses. Support the debt review administration process within prescribed timelines and in compliance to the Company's related policiesKey Duties and ResponsibilitiesDeficiency portfolio of Commercial Vehicle Assets:

  • Administer, co-ordinate, manage and report on the deficiency portfolio of commercial vehicle assets to the external service providers within prescribed policies and procedures.
  • Reduce the delinquency rate and minimizing credit losses in support of agreed targets.
Remarketed assets:
  • Administer, co-ordinate, manage and report on remarketed assets and how these impact the portfolio and reconciling these to customer shortfall or surplus before handing over for shortfall collections and legal action.
Service supplier performance:
  • Support analysis and assessment of external service supplier performance and effectiveness in relations to competitors.
  • Co-ordinate and arrange regular performance meetings with external service providers to implement corrective action in case the performance is not adequate according to the agreed targets.
Vehicles in stock portfolio:
  • Administer, co-ordinate, manage and report on the vehicles in stock portfolio through effective and timely releasing of the assets for sale, alternatively to reach settlement for release within legislative guidelines, prescribed policies and procedures with the objective to reduce the delinquency rate and minimizing credit losses in support of agreed targets.
After sale of the assets:
  • Administer, co-ordinate and manage the process after sale of the assets to process a refund to the customer in case of a surplus alternatively in case of a shortfall to hand the matter over for shortfall recovery.
Vehicle in Stock terminations
  • Administer the approval process of Vehicle in Stock terminations within legislative guidelines, prescribed policies, and procedures with the objective to reduce and mitigate the risk for Daimler Truck Financial Services
  • Raising of Cism's for matters on Contracts Management System (CMS) or at times Collections & Legal System (CLS).
Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in Financial Services Industry / Banking / Insurance environment
  • The following will be of advantage:
  • Experience a Financial Services Legal and Collection environment an advantage.
  • Legal and asset / shortfall recovery.
  • Knowledge, understanding and application of requirements pertaining to asset-based finance.
Knowledge, Skills and AttributesKnowledge in:
  • How to calculate the deficiency balance accurately after the asset sale
  • Strategies for:
  • Negotiating payment plans or settlements for deficiency balances.
  • Maximizing the recovery value from repossessed assets
  • Knowledge of Legal procedures in terms of the legal aspects of debt collection, asset repossession and administration are crucial.
  • Techniques for cataloguing, tracking, and maintaining repossessed assets.
