Advertising Sales Representative
Job Description
A Sales Representative with relevant industry experience is required to market a two monthly magazine and sell advertising space in the publication. This can be a full day or half day position.
Our client publishes a two monthly magazine primarily focused on an older, Afrikaans speaking readership. The magazine is distributed nationwide and covers a range of subjects including lifestyle, travel, financial planning, health and hobbies. The magazine is distributed to subscribers, medical consulting rooms and hospitals, and also various retail outlets. It is also published electronically.
The candidate will report directly to the Editor of the magazine and will be provided with solid administrative support to fulfill his/her tasks effectively.
DUTIES:
- Duties include sourcing potential advertisers and marketing and selling advertising space to them.
- Maintain a relationship with current advertisers with the view to maintain their support for the magazine.
- Arrange promotional opportunities.
- Liaison with target groups.
- Relevant experience in PR and sales, preferably advertising sales.
- Somebody who is in touch with the target market, an older, more mature person of ideally 45+.
- Computer literate.
- Equipped to work from home, when necessary.
- Own car and valid driver's license.
- Excellent written and spoken command of Afrikaans and English.
- Minimum Matric, but preferably a relevant tertiary qualification.
