Job SummaryAgile Product Owner (Data & BI) Product/Project management
Cape Town - Western CapeENVIRONMENT:A highly experience Agile Product Owner with a strong background in data & Business Intelligence (BI) work streams, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality products in an Agile environment is sought by a reputable Asset Management Group. You will develop and communicate a clear product vision and strategy for data and BI initiatives, prioritize and manage the product backlog and lead spring planning sessions and define sprint goals. The successful incumbent must possess a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or related field, preferably have a Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or similar Agile Certification with at least 5 years experience in a similar role including experience in Asset Management or Financial Services. You must also have knowledge of SQL & Data Modelling and be proficient with Tableau and Power BI.DUTIES:

• Product Vision and Strategy: Develop and communicate a clear product vision and strategy for data and BI initiatives.
• Backlog Management: Prioritize and manage the product backlog, ensuring alignment with business goals and stakeholder needs.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders, including Business Analysts, Data Scientists, and IT teams, to gather requirements and translate them into actionable user stories.
• Sprint Planning and Execution: Lead sprint planning sessions, define sprint goals, and ensure the team delivers high-quality increments.
• Data and BI Focus: Oversee the development and implementation of data and BI solutions, ensuring they meet business requirements and drive value.
• Performance Metrics: Define and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of data and BI initiatives.
• Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of Continuous Improvement by regularly reviewing processes and implementing best practices.

REQUIREMENTS:Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or similar Agile Certification preferred.

Experience/Skills

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Product Owner, with a focus on data and BI projects.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and experience working in Agile teams.
• Proficiency in Data Analysis, BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), and Data Management platforms.
• Experience in the Asset Management or Financial Services industry.
• Familiarity with data governance and data quality best practices.
• Knowledge of SQL and Data Modelling.
