Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research on crop production, soil management, to develop effective agricultural practices.
  • Design and implement field trials and experiments to test new farming techniques and technologies.
  • Analyze data from field trials and other research activities to provide actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate agronomic insights into product development and strategic initiatives.
  • Provide guidance and support to farmers and agricultural professionals on best practices for crop management and soil health.
  • Stay current with advancements in agronomy and related fields, applying best practices to ongoing projects.
  • Communicate research findings to both technical and non-technical audiences, providing practical recommendations for action.
  • Implement a continuous measurement program for irrigation systems, accompanied by diagnostics and a plan for operating adjustments.
  • Assist in technical and administrative activities related to the unit.
  • Implement the systems in the platform for new clients.
  • Provide initial training on the use of the system to contracted farms.
  • Evaluate irrigation systems and generate diagnostic reports before the start of planting or within the week of contracting if the contract was made after planting.
  • Propose improvements to the irrigation system to the client within 5 days of system evaluation, i.e. submission of Re-engineering report.
  • Review entries and logs made by clients in the system.
  • Correct usage faults in the platform in collaboration with the client.
  • Conduct field visits twice a month to measure soil moisture, compare it with the platform's indications, make necessary adjustments, confirm crop stage, and adjust as needed.
  • Prepare reports on field visits.
  • Send weekly irrigation plans to the client.
  • Commercially develop the preferential action area in line with goals set by the unit leader.
  • Build a relationship of trust and collaboration with the farm manager.
  • Prepare end-of-season reports requiring the collection and analysis of farmers' electricity bills.
  • Present end-of-season reports and consulting results
The Successful ApplicantThe prospective candidate for the Agronomist role must come from the IT-related field within Agriculture.
  • Experience in sustainable agriculture or precision farming.
  • Familiarity with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and remote sensing technologies.
  • Knowledge of integrated pest management and crop modeling.
