Job Summary
Minimum requirements for the role:
- Must have a Masters degree in Agronomy Soil Science Plant Production
- 3-5 years relevant Agronomy experience is required
- Knowledge and experience of forage crops, maize, wheat and canola would be an advantage
- Good communication and writing skills, specifically in English and Afrikaans, with the ability to interface with internal and external stakeholders of all levels, are essential
- Must have a valid drivers license and be willing to travel extensively and spend time away from home
- Preparing and co-ordinating varietal screening trials in multiple crops, specialising in pastures.
- Handling complaints and supplying support and feedback to the Sales team in this regard.
- Providing weekly feedback to the Technical Manager.
- Co-ordinating and providing product training.
- Presenting and assisting at farmers' days and agricultural expos.
- Writing articles for newsletters, magazines and marketing materials.
- Conducting farmers' visits with the Sales Representatives and Agents.
- Planting and evaluating commercial trials.
- Providing technical support to Sales team, Product Development team as well as Field Officers and farmers.
