Agronomy Technician (jhb)
Job Description
ENVIRONMENT:A highly analytical & meticulous Agronomy Technician is sought by a dynamic & family-owned Agricultural business in Joburg whose role will include field data collection, capturing and reporting. You will participate in field work which will include crop population counts, soil and leaf sampling and moisture assessment and irrigation scheduling. The ideal candidate must possess a BSc./BTech Degree in Agriculture Crop Production with at least 3 years relevant work experience OR a Diploma in Agriculture with 5 years suitable work experience.DUTIES:
- Field work which includes:
- Crop population counts.
- Soil and leaf sampling.
- Yield estimation sampling.
- Field inspections (Scouting).
- Moisture assessment and irrigation scheduling.
- Field data collection, capture and reporting.
- Degree (preferably BSc. or B Tech.) in Agriculture Crop Production, with minimum of 3 years work experience. A Diploma in Agriculture may be considered only if one has minimum of 5 years work experience.
- Willingness to work in the field.
- Valid drivers licence.
- Good computer skills.
- Good standard of verbal and written communication.
