As change has swept across the sector in South Africa the socio-economic makeup of agriculture has altered, bringing new entrants from historically disadvantaged backgrounds on to the land, these new farmers, facing the challenges of establishing sustainable agri-businesses across the agricultural value chain, Land Bank has been a commercial lifeline offering appropriately designed financial products that facilitate personal and commercial viability in a sector that is vital to the sustainability of South Africa and its people.MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOBTo support the LBIC/ LBLIC Executive Manager: Operations with Data Management, Policy Systems Administration, Management Reporting and Business Analysis for Short term and Long term insurance business. To provide high quality data having planned, implemented, integrated and controlled activities and processes to ensure availability, usability, integrity, compliance and security of data.
Key Performance Areas1. Data Management

• Develop, manage and maintain all data management systems for the organisation.
• Develop and maintain database (repository system) for consistency and ease of access which incorporates data from all business partners.
• Ensure all binder holders, intermediaries and administrators provide sufficient and quality data timeously to allow compliance with regulatory requirements and financial processing.
• Address all data exceptions or shortcomings with external partners and recommend improvements to always ensure data completeness.

• Complete data testing as part of data migration and new system implementation projects to ensure that the integrity of the data is maintained, and all reports are reliable and accurate.
• Implement tools and standards to improve the productivity and quality of output of data
• Coordinate all data collection, collation and reporting system development and maintenance.
• Identify backup, recovery and disaster recovery procedures for all insurance applications and systems.
• Resource planning to ensure internal and regulatory due dates are met.
• Formulate, implement and maintain system processes for data integration.

2. Data Analysis

• Leverage data and business expertise to analyse key business trends and performance drivers to provide new insights and influence business strategy.
• Play important part in analytics and business intelligence.
• Define configuration specifications and business analysis requirements for the business.
• Define reporting and alerting requirements for the various business portfolios.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams, such as finance, actuarial, and sales to understand business requirements, share insights, and contribute to data-driven projects.
• Constantly be on the lookout for ways to improve monitoring, discover issues and deliver better value to the business and its partners.
• Manage and implement automation of standard reporting for operations, management

3. Management Reporting

• Organising and communicating the planning and reporting processes: dividing responsibilities and setting timelines for deliverables and steps of the process, ensuring timely delivery of quality assured data reports.
• Contribute towards data governance and data quality best practices including design reviews, unit testing and continuous integration.
• Assisting in the development and/or improvement of reporting tools or systems for for all lines of business.
• For business partner reporting: planning and coordinating the respective business partner reporting specification and reporting templates.

4. Data Quality Assurance

• Establish data quality standards with business partners.
• Provides input and recommendations into the development and trends into the market in terms of data management.
• Consults existing control systems to determine their effectiveness and recommend improvements where necessary.
• Communicates the implementation of the control system in accordance with best practice.
• Implements control systems in accordance with policies, procedures and legal requirements

Preferred Minimum Education and Experience

• Relevant 4 year Commercial/IT Degree/Computer Science
• 5-8 years Data management
• 5-8 years Report design, layout and presentation of MIS
• 5-8 years Short term and/or Life general insurance experience
• 5-8 years Data Analysis
