Minimum Requirements

• 3-year IT Diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Proficiency in Java/J2EE.
• Experience with MySQL relational databases.
• Familiarity with AWS CloudFront.
• Knowledge of Postman and working with JSON (RESTful services).

Additional Criteria

• Operational/system support experience.
• Strong analytical and development skills.
• Cloud-based experience is advantageous.
• E-commerce or mobile commerce (M-commerce) experience (Android and iOS).
• 2-5 years of programming/analyst programming experience.
• Ability to participate in rotational stand-by support.
• A proactive approach to researching and applying technology-related trends and best practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and provide solutions.
• Ability to synthesise data from multiple sources to identify trends.
• Clear and structured communication, including well-prepared presentations.

As a Support Engineer, you will be responsible for the following:

• Conducting analysis, technical design, and development in alignment with team processes and requirements.
• Developing technical specifications based on systems specifications.
• Designing and coding complex programs from technical specifications.
• Maintaining and supporting existing systems, ensuring their optimal functionality.
• Translating user requirements into systems design.
• Investigating and resolving system issues.
• Keeping systems documentation up to date.
• Ensuring effective operations by implementing approved changes as per change control and security processes.
• Managing your own workload and providing regular progress updates.
• Contributing to the improvement of processes, technology, and architecture.
• Utilizing problem-solving techniques to resolve technical issues.
• Ensuring systems conform to IT governance and information security standards.
• Providing input into risk management strategies and mitigating system-related risks.
