:THE JOB AT A GLANCEThe Application Manager is accountable to manage all aspects of Tiger Brands applications in a build and run context. The role leads a team of Functional Analysts who design, configure, develop, test, support and document all changes to the Tiger Brands suite of applications considering usability, performance, security, scalability and stability in the IT environment. The applications set consists primarily of Oracle E-Business Suite, Oracle Fusion HCM, Oracle Taleo but also includes many other applications that are not Oracle specific.Responsibilities:WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Support Applications Director and by ensuring that applications integrity and interfaces are maintained during development and deployment of enhancements resulting from operational support
• Support Applications Director and wider IT organisation by delivering on projects as per the SDLC
• Manage and maintain the operational release plans ensuring alignment to application standards
• Responsible to manage the work backlog of bugs, incidents, change requests and enhancements related to applications
• Lead, develop and manage the Oracle Functional Analysts creating a culture of high performance, continuous optimisation, cost effectiveness and team performance
• Support the Applications Director's reporting with release visibility for support planning
• Ensure that the organization's release controls are documented, well understood and executed correctly by operational support team in order to mitigate risks
• Approve the detailed deployment plan provided by project managers
• Coordinate with Business Engagement team to ensure that sanctioned communications to all stakeholders have been properly prepared and reviewed
• Authorise and conduct service handover and lead the go-live authorisation discussions with the Service Delivery team
• Ensure optimum use and availability of applications though well documented support documentation
• Ensure that each release's proposed services changes are controlled, monitored, and implemented with minimum disruption to the services being delivered
• Provides an application system that conforms to business requirements (Identify improvement opportunity / automation)
• Provide detailed guidance to development and project teams on all application release issues and new technology solutions required
• Helps enterprise IT to effectively navigate and understand the application roadmaps giving clear direction on improvements and enhancements required to optimize business processes

Qualifications:WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE TABLEKey attributes and competencies

• Excellent tactical planning capabilities - release planning considering time and resource constraints
• Extensive knowledge of ERP systems and application architectures - highly skilled and experienced in configuration and operational support of ERP systems. Experience of Oracle E-Business Suite is non-negotiable.
• Excellent Release Methodology understanding - ITIL Release and Deployment
• Superb communication and interpersonal skills - to keep all players coordinated on development, delivery and to deploy good quality product, with no negative business impact ensuring that business is aware of all impact from changes

Experience

• BSc (Information Systems) or similar
• 6 - 8+ years of IT systems development and operational support of ERP systems experience
