We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Sweet & Beverage Food Technologist to join our team and help us uphold the highest standards in sample delivery and technical expertise.
Our ideal person
To assist and participate in the development of sweet and beverage (majority sweet) applications in the food industry as well as the culinary industry by making use of a diverse internal library of flavours. It will require technical knowledge and support when it comes to assisting clients with specific requests and requirements as well as supporting a sales team focused on a both local and export client basis.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage briefs and action requirements to meet project objectives, deadlines and price requirements.
Coordinate flavour development and applications.
Support sales team and clients when it comes to new product and flavour ideas as well as the launch of it.
Develop sweet and beverage application concepts in order to showcase Scentium flavours and abilities.
Sharing technical knowledge with team members with regards to sweet & beverage applications, flavours and processing.
Assist and support junior professionals.
Remain informed of sweet goods and beverage strategies, products and trends.
Maintain a safe, clean and organised environment and follow health and safety protocols.
Making relevant and optimal flavour selection for projects according to requested requirements.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in food science or food technology (or similarly related) from an accredited university
A minimum of 5 years of experience in the sweet and confectionery industry
Practical experience in beverages (alcoholic & non-alcoholic) manufacturing and flavour applications
Practical experience in confectionery, baked goods and dairy products, its formulating and flavour applications
Ability to work independently and under pressure
Experience with the processing techniques and raw materials of sweet goods and beverages
Analytical & creative thinking
Professional verbal and written communication skills
Ability to listen and communicate effectively
Good mathematical skills and understanding
Team player
Skilled in Microsoft office, more specifically Word & Excel
SAP experience is beneficial
Fluent in English and ability to communicate with people globally
Ability to taste, see and smell optimally
