Artisan: Diesel Electric FitterBe part of a group that is safety driven and values inclusionFamily-friendly rostersLocation: Richards Bay, South AfricaC3About the roleFinding better ways to provide the materials the world needsWe are looking for an Artisan: Diesel Electric Fitter to perform preventative maintenance on Mobile Equipment.This is a great opportunity for a candidate that has a sound knowledge of Mobile Diesel Electric Equipment and exposure to maintenance of light and heavy motor vehicles that is developed through a combination of practical experience and formal training and can demonstratively apply this knowledge in the workplace. We do the work only if it is safe, and we invest to make sure every member of the team has the quality tools they need to do their job..Reporting to the Controller: Maintenance, and working in a challenging and exciting environment within the Mobile Equipment Workshop, you will be:Inspect, repair and maintain assets , both mechanical and electrical Components on Diesel / Diesel Electric equipment, to minimize adverse impact on production.Oversee, assist and support maintenance jobs of all Servicepersons, if or when directly reporting to them Perform condition monitoring, fault finding and problem solving.Mechanical and Electrical fault finding on Equipment resulting from notifications raised by Operational Sections.Live Electrical and Mechanical Testing of equipment including 74v DC.Technical evaluation of equipment and projects.Record job statistics including non-hours, duration, failure mode, failure root cause, parts used, important observations etc. on the specified documentation, with utmost tidiness, care, and accuracy.Accept technical ownership of breakdown situations and to manage all aspects corrective work up to the point of resolution or escalation.Perform fair and reasonable tasks related to the job and working environment, at the discretion of the Controller/ Engineer.What youll bringA commitment to the safety of yourself and your teamMatric (with Pure Maths and Physical Science) / N3 with Mathematics and Engineering ScienceTrade Test: Diesel Electric FitterValid South African Drivers License2 5 years practical work experience within a heavy industry environmentknowledge of Mobile Diesel electric EquipmentExposure to maintenance of Rolling Stock EquipmentPlease attach ALL copies of your qualifications, failure to do so will result in your application being unsuccessful and an automatic regret of your application.Only online applications will be considered.Please note that failure to satisfy all the minimum requirements will lead to your application not being considered.No statement of results will be considered.What we offerA safety-focused and inclusive working environmentWellbeing benefitsEmployee Assistance ProgramOngoing individual wellbeing support for you and your family for personal and professional matterWhere youll be workingCertified as a Top Employer for 4 consecutive years, located in the Kwa-Zulu Natal province, Richards Bay Minerals (RBM) is part of the Rio Tinto Group and is an internationally recognised sand mining and mineral processing operations leader and one of the world's foremost producers of titanium minerals, high purity pig iron and zircon.
