Job Description

Job Profile:





Technical experts that performs maintenance, ensuring that Necsa's plants, equipment and infrastructure are maintained and repairs are done in accordance to fabricator's specifications.


Key Performance Areas




To get quotations and procure the parts needed to repair break downs and also do the scheduled maintenance as received from the Section Heads as supplied by the Planning office. To communicate with clients to keep them informed. Perform maintenance and installation tasks to prevent unnecessary breakdowns in buildings, facilities and plants Read & understand technical drawings / sketches. All air conditioning units including the central system & associated equipment. Chiller plant & associated equipment. Ventilation fan. Cold & freezer rooms. Domestic refrigeration equipment (split- window- & console units). Provide inputs to the design of basic refrigeration in plants & the construction thereof. HVAC Plant Equipment (refrigeration compressors, pumps, pressurised vessels, cooling towers, etc.). Laboratory equipment (e.g. fume cabinets, airflow measurements, and air balancing etc.). Complete job cards as per tasks assigned and provide feedback on the status of the job to ensure follow-up or closure of tasks. Plan and prioritise jobs as per urgency or critical facilities. Delegate minor tasks to the assistants. Communicate with clients regarding their requests. Ensure client and supervisor signs off completed jobs. Submit completed job cards to planning office. Conduct inspections or fault finding assessments on assigned tasks to determine faults reported and repair as per assessment. Draw spares from stores and attend to the fault. Seek advice if fault is beyond own scope of work. Provide inputs towards preparation of quotations for clients. Check work of junior staff as required for correctness and safety. Perform standby duties after hours as and when required and be prepared to work over-time. SHEQ compliance Safety Systems improvement Environmental safely disposal of oils, filters, tyres, etc. according to approved waste management policies and procedures. Ensure adherence to Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) standards and requirements in performing tasks for compliance and safety reasons. Check lists for safety equipment. Communicate with customers (internal). Communicate with customers (External). Turnaround time for jobs done. Customer Job Card Rating. Zero non- conformances Expenditure vs budget. Obtain quotations for spare parts, lubrication, oils, pumps, cleaning materials, etc. Generate purchase requisitions. Generate store requisitions. Timeous return of completed Job Cards for capturing and recoveries.

JOB REQUIREMENTS




KEY KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS




Fault-finding abilities and fundamental knowledge of failures and reconditioning. Specialized knowledge of maintaining and repairing a variety of machines, compressors, generators, pressure vessels, Ventilation Fans etc. Knowledge of tools and equipment that are used in workshops. Familiar with and understanding safety rules that applies in workshops.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:




Education

:


Matric certificate. Qualified Artisan in electrical/mechanical (with a Trade Test) Valid Authorised Gas Practitioner Certificate / Permit added advantage.

Experience:




3 years' experience in refrigeration and ventilation in a maintenance environment. Understanding of ventilation systems. Knowledge and use of HVAC tools, equipment and refrigeration gases. Knowledge and understanding of maintenance principles. Good knowledge of Necsa site and buildings, machinery and safety equipment. Knowledge of Microsoft Office package (advantageous).
