We supply more than 120 customers in over 20 countries and our systems, equipment, safe operating philosophy, and excellent business practices provide our customers with peace of mind, first-class quality, and reliable supply. Our products are used in the top-end of the market, in the aluminum, steel, non-ferrous alloys, rechargeable lithium-ion batteries, chemicals, and welding consumable industries.The job incumbent will safely carry out rigging and lifting operations in line with documented work instructions.In this position, the job incumbent will be part of the services team at MMC and play an important role in working closely with various engineering teams and other departments to achieve world-class service delivery to his clients. This position is a great opportunity for the incumbent to display their skills, by resolving difficult rigging challenges safely. The job requires a self-starter, an energetic individual, and a doer. MMC operates on a 24-hour/365-day basis. Success in this role happens when the desired uptime and throughput of equipment are achieved at the lowest cost. Risk assessments, work planning, and execution will form part of your daily routine.MMC offers a fast-paced and dynamic working environment, where the person will have an opportunity to support MMC in keeping up with the industry standards and play a vital role in influencing the changes required to be on par with the industry standards. The Individual will most importantly enjoy the satisfaction of being part of the worlds only team that delivers the MMC brand of Electrolytic Manganese Metal (EMM) to our niche customers all over the world, directly from the lovely Mbombela, in Mpumalanga.

• N3/Matric with Maths and Science.
• Trade Certification (qualified Rigger).
• Computer literacy (Basic).
• Code 10 drivers licence.
• Overhead crane licence.
• Certificate for HIAB
• 3-4 years of experience in rigging, post-qualification

• Prioritize and perform the job as outlined in the Work Order and as per the detailed Task List.
• Capture history complete the job card to the required standard.
• Complete the Work Order on ONKEY with the correct time and all details to the required standard.
• Provide feedback to the Maintenance Supervisor/Foreman on any task where there is a difference between the task instruction and the job requirements.
• Provide feedback and recommendations on shortcomings, defects, and further maintenance required to restore equipment to its original safe operating condition.
• Perform monthly inspections on the HIAB.
• Maintain color coding on mobile crane and HIAB.
• Conduct risk assessment and obtain a work permit before proceeding with rigging activities
• Draw up a master lifting plan before rigging activities take place.
• Effectively maintain toolkit and lifting tackle.
• Prioritize lifting activities according to production requirements where required
• Carry out crane and plant inspections, action shortcomings where possible report on integrity and safety matters.
• Maintain a clean working environment.
• Complete logbook for company vehicle.
• Keep company vehicles and company property clean.

Working conditions

• Plant and workshop-based, exposed to hazardous chemicals and biological agents.
• Regular traveling required (local).
• Standby required
