Applying specialist knowledge and practices toward Nedbank's art collection. You will work closely with internal stakeholders to enhance the workplace environment through strategic placement of artwork that aligns with Nedbank's purpose, brand, values and aesthetic preferences. The role will involve researching, acquiring, managing, valuating and preserving art pieces that inspires creativity, innovations and cultural engagement among employees and visitors.Job Responsibilities

  • Review and assessment of the current portfolio and provide strategic direction on acquisition of art as an investment for Nedbank. Manage the/any reputational risk for Nedbank through deep knowledge of the collection.
  • Mitigating risks of loss or damage during logistics, installations, curation, and deliveries. Inclusive of Subject-specialist collaborations with internal and external parties (conservators, artists, auctioneers, gallerists) to support Nedbank assets and the art strategy, and business projects.
  • Specialist content advisory through learned knowledge and ongoing research to Nedbank as a client on the management, acquisition, and curation of the corporate art collection.
  • Organising art-related events, exhibitions and installations within Nedbank's corporate environment which promotes the education of and exposure to the art collection to staff and clients.
  • Ensure Governance of the collection through the Art & Heritage Committee and applicable art policies and procedural manuals.
  • Management of Art Collection (insurance / framing / restoration / security / curation / acquisition / onsite audit and churns).
  • Management of database of the art collection across all Nedbank sites and storage areas.
  • Insurance valuations and associated quarterly and annual updates.
  • Curation and management of temporary of artwork exhibitions. Art walkabouts/tours and writing and publication of informative articles or other similar educational output.
  • Departmental financial administration (SAP/ARIBA).
  • Involvement in the creation of Art Policy and Procedure Manuals and implementation.
  • Collaborate with the design and facilities management teams to integrate artwork into building design and refurbishment projects
  • Engage with senior stakeholders to present proposals and gain approval for art acquisitions and installations
Essential Qualifications - NQF Level
  • Honours or Masters degree in Fine Art, History of Art, Performance Art, Curation and Museum Studies or similar related field.
Preferred Qualification
  • Masters degree in essential field.
Minimum Experience Level
  • Role specific: 3 years in curation/lecturer/specialist/gallerist role
