Strategically lead and manage the research and innovation division of the Faculty of Business and Management Sciences
Ensure that the Faculty strategic goals are realized in line with the institutional strategic goals
Increase and management the postgraduate students numbers in line with the faculty and institutional enrolment targets.
Stimulate, promote, support and reward faculty scholarship
Grow the third stream income with an emphasis on postgraduate student support (facilities, scholarships, supervisors , mentoring; etc).
Facilitate the establishment of centres of excellence and encourage multidisciplinary research and formation of new research areas
Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Doctoral Qualification in any Business Management or Social Sciences discipline relevant to the Faculty
At least 10 years Higher Education teaching experience and at least 5 years of supervision of postgraduate students at Higher Education level
A track record of publications with a minimum of 10 articles in accredited journals.
A track record of PG supervision and have supervised a minimum of 5 postgraduate students to completion

Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities
Lead and manage the research portfolio of the Faculty of Business and Management Sciences
Develop and implement the research strategy , policies and rules of engagement for efficient and effective research administration
Ensure effective monitoring and performance evaluation of the Unit for Research and Innovation
Ensure that the Faculty Strategic Plan is achieved
Work with the Dean, Assistant Dean, HODs, Quality, Risk & Knowledge Management and Strategic Initiatives & Projects Units to ensure that all the Faculty's postgraduate qualifications are in line with the new HEQSF.
Provide excellent customer service to all postgraduate students and staff from admission to graduation.
Provide leadership and management of university resources in an ethical manner
Increase 3rd stream income through research and innovation promotion; writing and submission of research grants
Increase the number of NRF Research Chairs
Conduct efficient and effective academic administration in a professional manner
Participate in Faculty committees and CPUTs strategic projects
Initiate and engage in sustainable international programs
Promote the Faculty Internationally
Manage and annually ensure the improvement of research output of the Faculty.
Publishing articles in accredited journals
Publishing text or academic books
Increase the number of staff with doctoral degrees
Increase and retain staff with NRF rating
Improve pass rate and throughputs rates of post-graduate students.
