The Department of Social Development, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a qualified and competent individual to manage and supervise staff who perform an acquisition contract management and logistics service with regard to supply chain management. This post is stationed in Cape Town.
Minimum Requirements
An appropriate 3 year B Degree (equivalent qualification or higher); A minimumof 3 years supervisory experience in a Supply Chain Management.

Key Performance Areas
Perform the following functions and perform the more complex work in that regard: Acquisition management; Contract management and administration; Logistics management; Perfrom managerial and supervisory tasks.
Competencies
Knowledge of the following: Policy development; Financial norms and standards (Public Finance Management Act - PFMA, NationalTreasury regulations - NTR's; Provincial Treasury Directives/Instructions - PTI's); Budget processes; National and Provincial instruments and legislation pertaining to human resources; Human resource management function; Financial management processes; Strategic Sourcing and preferential procurement / BEE; Board knowledge on procurement activities; Industry trends and best practices per commodity groups; Records management; General support service such as transport management and policy and procedures governing these functions; Skills in the following: Analytical and strategic thinking; Budgeting; Communication; Computer literacy; Monitoring, evaluation and reporting; Problem solving; Research; Ability to analyze, conceptualize and implement policy.
Remuneration
R 424 104 per annum (Salary level 9)
