Job Description


The Department of Social Development, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a suitably qualified and competent individual to develop and actively promote the use of knowledge and information respiurces within the department.
Minimum RequirementsAn appropriate 3-year National Diploma/B Degree (equivalent or higher qualification); A minimum of 3 years relevant experience in a knowledge management working environment. A valid code B (or higher) driving license. NB People with disabilities that restrict driving abilities, but who have reasonable access to transport, may also apply.

Key Performance AreasIdentify, implement and maintain knowledge and information services; Convert tacit and implicit knowledge into institutional knowledge; Publish and disseminate management information generated within the department; Manage the process of obtaining access to management and other information generated within the department; People management.
CompetenciesKnowledge of the following: Public Service legislation, including POPI Act, PAIA, PAJA; Management and people management principles; Financial management; Records management systems; Electronic content management; Policies and prescripts related to records and knowledge management; Project management. Skills in the following: Written, verbal and liaison communication; Computer literacy; Planning and organising; Problem solving; Facilitation and presentation; Analytical; Operational planning and innovation.
RemunerationR 444 036 per annum (Salary level 9)Note on remuneration: Service benefits or obligations for qualifying employees (medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc) are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
