Pretoria - GautengAssistant Director: Strategic Partnerships X2PRETORIA12 month fixed term contractR355 2000paPurpose of the post:To promote South Africa and Africas participation in the European Union Funding Programmes and networks, which will leverage international resources to strengthen science, technology and innovation capacities and maintain strategic partnerships.Description of tasks:SA participation in competitive EU funding programmes:Organising logistics for local and international activities to raise awareness on EU programmes and DSTI support instruments (venue booking, invitation and managing the rsvps, packaging of all required event materials)Coordination of the logistics for the South African National Contact Point (NCP) Network DSTISupport the facilitation of access in international knowledge, capacities, and resources DSTI:Facilitate participation in international Leveraging opportunities for South African students participating in international Training programmesAssist with the facilitation of the dedicated capacity building initiatives for international cooperation specifically targeting Historically Disadvantaged Institutions and individuals (HDIs)Management of the logistics leading to strategic international technical exchanges such as workshops, policy dialogues, seminars and/or training programmes to reinforce STI capacities.Assist in facilitating the strengthening of STI projects or events cofounded or supported in-kind by the DSTI and other African partnersSA-EU STI programmes and projects:Coordination, management and implementation of international programmes and projects.Coordination and attendance of project reporting meetings (projects implemented by DSTI).Participate in project meeting activities where partners are required to present (EU programmes and projects implemented by DSTI).Profile completed projects and compile impact assessments reports/articlesAdministration:Administration of Directorate standard operating procedures and document management.Compile and prepare submissions, memos, letters, notes and or power-point presentations relating to the area of workStrengthening the stakeholder engagements:Manage relationships within DSTI programmes other government departments and with the NSICompetencies, Knowledge and Skills:Resilience: Maintain effective work behaviour in the face of setbacks or pressure, remains calm, stable and in control of themselves.Personal Motivation: Commit self to work hard, towards goals.
