The Department of Police Oversight and Community Safety, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a qualified and competent individual to provide a Supply Chain Management service inclusive of acquisition management, demand management, contract administration, and Logistical support.
Minimum RequirementsAn appropriate 3 year B-Degree (equivalent or higher qualification); A minimum of 3 years relevant supervisory level experience in a supply chain management working environment.
RecommendationA valid code B (or higher) driving license. NB People with disabilities with restricted driving abilities, but who have reasonable access to transport, may also apply.
Key Performance AreasProvide an acquisition management service according to the prescribed procurement methodologies; Provide a Logistical Support service; Provide a Contract Administration service; Provide a Demand Management service; People management; Inventory Management; IFA/AFS/Provincial Treasury Reporting.
CompetenciesKnowledge of the following: Supply Chain Management such as LOGIS, ePS and Demand Management; Bids, contract management, leases, service level agreements and stakeholder management; Financial norms and standards (PFMA) National Treasury Regulations and provincial Treasury Directives/Instructions; Provincial and National Treasury directives relating to Supply Chain Management; Procurement Best Practices including sourcing strategies and the different mechanisms for procurement; Procurement policies and procedures. Skills in the following: Computer literacy in MS Office Package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); Communication skills (written and verbal); Conflict management; Planning and organising; Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
RemunerationR 444 036 per annum (Salary level 9)Note on remuneration: Service benefits or obligations for qualifying employees (medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc) are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
