Job SummaryWe are seeking an Assistant Maintenance Manager to join our team, embodying this spirit while ensuring a secure and comfortable environment for our guests by maintaining our hotel's assets through proactive, preventative maintenance programs.Key ResponsibilitiesEnsuring a Secure and Comfortable Environment

  • Regularly inspect and maintain hotel facilities and equipment.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure full compliance with relevant regulations, taking immediate corrective actions when necessary.
  • Communicate maintenance plans and needs with department heads.
  • Keep all mechanical, electrical, and structural blueprints current and organized.
  • Manage and direct maintenance, repair, and renovation activities.
  • Evaluate and determine the necessity of internal versus outsourced maintenance work.
  • Assign work orders, supervise staff, and schedule preventive maintenance routines.
  • Address guest complaints and service requests promptly.
  • Maintain inventory levels and oversee purchasing orders.
  • Review and approve invoices, manage budgets, and monitor energy conservation initiatives.
Managing the Maintenance Team
  • Lead and manage both internal maintenance employees and contractors.
  • Supervise daily activities of the maintenance staff, ensuring timely task completion.
  • Develop work schedules and assign responsibilities effectively.
Ensuring Compliance with Laws and Policies
  • Uphold compliance with all applicable laws and hotel regulations.
  • Participate in Responsible Business activities within the department and the hotel.
Human Resources Management
  • Assist in screening, interviewing, and selecting new maintenance staff.
  • Develop and implement training programs tailored to the needs of both staff and guests.
  • Ensure the team consistently delivers "Yes, I Can!" service.
  • Identify training and development opportunities for the staff.
  • Collaborate with the HR department on tasks like performance appraisals, coaching, counseling, and succession planning.
Promoting Positive Employee Relations
  • Foster a positive and effective team environment, maintaining strong communication and relationships throughout the hotel.
  • Conduct regular meetings to motivate and update the team on current projects and goals.
Health and Safety
  • Ensure safety measures and regulations are followed by all maintenance staff.
  • Address and reduce potential hazards immediately.
  • Regularly practice and enforce emergency procedures.
Miscellaneous
  • Attend required meetings and complete training programs.
  • Assist colleagues with similar tasks when necessary.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve operations and service.
  • Stay up to date with hotel procedures, safety policies, and local regulations.
Minimum Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in property maintenance or a similar role.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and leadership skills.
  • Commitment to excellent guest service, with a passion for the hospitality industry.
  • Ability to think creatively and provide innovative solutions to challenges.
  • High level of personal integrity, teamwork, and collaboration.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in MS Office.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks in a fast-paced environment.
