When the General Manager is on leave, you will step into this role, ensuring continuity and excellence by following structured handover protocols. Our mission is to balance sustainable tourism with a nurturing work environment that empowers local talent, showcases authentic hospitality, and provides meaningful guest interactions in one of the worlds most awe-inspiring settings.Key ResponsibilitiesFood and Beverage ManagementCollaborate with a team of community chefs to ensure proper stock management, waste control, and adherence to hygiene standards.Cultivate an environment of positive reinforcement and provide guidance on efficient kitchen operations, from health and safety to plating techniques.Front of House DutiesEvery guest is welcomed as a personal guest, with warm hospitality that is different to typical lodge expectations. Your focus will be on ensuring each guest feels at home in this extraordinary environment, creating a memorable and comfortable experience.Operational SupportWork closely with our community team, many of whom have limited exposure to tourism beyond Big Skies. This role requires a nurturing approach to guide, train, and support team members as they grow in their roles.Use disciplined actions as tools to reinforce professionalism, while maintaining our nurturing, community-centric work culture.Guest ServicesPartner with front-of-house staff and guides to organize daily activities, identify areas of improvement, and enhance logistics for a smooth, authentic guest experience.Management SupportAct as the General Managers deputy during their leave, overseeing guest administration, communication with reservations, booking updates, and payment processing.RequirementsExperience: Background in food and beverage management, front-of-house operations, and kitchen/chef roles.Skills: Strong organizational, stock management, and interpersonal skills.Adaptability: Ability to manage shifting responsibilities with flexibility.The LifestyleLiving and working at Big Skies is a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the beauty of the wilderness.
