You will inform all overnight staff of nightly activities, group and special arrivals, requests, and repeat guests. You will also act as manager on duty for the hotel in the absence of management, dealing with complaints, problem-solving, disturbances, special requests, and any other issues that may arise.You will manage the department's night shift, ensuring all employees perform the tasks assigned to them and coordinating Front Office and night Audit activities with the Night Team. You must actively participate in the decision-making process regarding guest relocation for nights when overbooked, execute accordingly, and ensure a smooth relocation process.Monitoring and developing team performance to provide supervision, scheduling, assigning nightly work, conducting training, counselling and evaluations, and delivering recognition and rewards will form part of this role.In addition, you will ensure the accurate completion of the daily night audit and balance all the reconciliations, as well as oversee the preparation and accuracy of Daily Revenue Reports. You will also assist the Night Manager in implementing and enforcing financial controls throughout the department.You must be aware of and able to enforce all health and safety/emergency/fire procedures and report any suspicious persons, activities, and/or hazardous conditions to the security department and/or the front office manager.You have a Matric Certificate with a hospitality qualification with at least 5 years' experience in a Front Office/ Night Manager role in a busy, high-demand environment. Along with this, you have a strong Room Division & Food and Beverage operational background with experience in managing a team. You are experienced in using technology including micros, opera / speed point machine, CCTV, MS 365.You are flexible, able to work shifts and fulfil duty management shifts when required, have a valid Driver's License, and own transport.You are a proactive and innovative professional passionate about delivering exceptional quality. You have excellent communication skills, solid financial and business acumen, and a client-focused mindset with a market orientation.
