Build modules and organizations on the UFS Learning Management System, this includes copying and uploading content, setting availability dates and uploading banners.
Enroll academic staff in specific modules and organisations on the UFS Learning Management System.
Enroll support staff in specific modules and organisations on the UFS Learning Management System.
Enroll students into organisations on the UFS Learning Management System.
Provide first-line support to the Learning Designer regarding access to modules on UFS Learning Management System.
Provide general system administration (LMS) as required.
Follow divisional procedure regarding module and organisation administration on the UFS Learning
Management System.
Assist learning designers in the preparation, implementation and evaluation of training workshops regarding the use of technology in teaching and learning.
Provide administrative support in the preparation, implementation and evaluation of training and workshops regarding the use of technology in teaching and learning.
Provide general administrative support to the relevant Learning Designer.
Assist academic and support staff with the uploading and formatting of text, audio, video and other types of electronic learning materials on the UFS Learning Management System.
Assist academic and support staff with the creation of assessment activities on the UFS Learning Management System as needed.
Assist academic and support staff with the creation of collaboration activities on the UFS Learning Management System as needed.
Provide first-line support to the Learning Designer regarding the development of course material and activities.
Support the Learning Designer in encouraging and supporting academic staff to pursue continuous curriculum and programme innovation, including alternative forms of delivery (blended and online learning).
Support the Learning Designer in pro-actively marketing blended /online learning within the University of the Free State.
Play an active role in the implementation of BLISS projects.
Follow divisional procedure regarding the development of modules on the UFS Learning Management System.
Attend to problems relating to the uploading and creation of learning material and activities on the UFS Learning Management System.
Troubleshoot student Blackboard queries escalated from the Blackboard Student Helpdesk.
Correspond with students and staff members to assist with activities as necessary.
Capture staff and student query information on the faculty query page daily.
Provide first-line technical support and troubleshooting in the use of the UFS Learning Management System to staff and students.
Follow divisional procedure regarding the reporting and follow-up of technical problems and troubleshooting.
Develop training materials related to the use of various tools on the Learning Management System for staff and students.
Incorporate Universal Design for Learning principles in the development and presentation of training materials and sessions.
Train Undergraduate and Postgraduate students in the use of the UFS Learning Management System.
Gather/collect data, capture modules and module content on the UFS Learning Management
System for the annual module analysis project.
Capture data for training /conferences or research-related activities within the design team.
Participate in self-development activities to stay ahead of the latest trends in learning development.
Play an active role in BLISS research projects.
Inherent Job Requirements:
Grade 12 or National Vocational Certificate on NQF level 4.
Recommendations:
A post-school qualification.
One year experience in the use of a Learning Management System (LMS).
One year experience in training and/or research administration.
One year experience in a higher education environment.
