Job Description
A successful retail group which has established a successful regional hub for smaller growers of fruit and vegetables, has an Assistant Packhouse Manager vacancy available at their vegetable packing operation in the Limpopo, packing cocktail tomatoes, green beans, baby corn and green peppers, and subtropical fruit in season.Key Performance Areas:
- Manages and coordinates all packhouse activities including, but not limited to, production planning and execution, administration, logistics and workers engaged in receiving, grading, storing, packing and shipping of vegetables.
- Maximize packhouse efficiencies - determine and implement improvements to the production process.
- Manage workforce effectively.
- Plan, organize and control all relevant production plans together with Regional Hub Manager to ensure that goods are produced efficiently, on time, within budget and to standard.
- Ensure compliance with and knowledge of employer/employee related laws and ethical business standards.
- Implementation and adherence to health and safety procedures.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in food safety, and previous experience in managing/supervising of a vegetable/fruit packhouse.
- Computer Literacy skills (MS Office)
