Job Description

:
Support monitoring of contractor progress on-site and maintain communication with the Construction Engineer (CE) and Resident Engineer (RE)
Refer significant design/engineering queries to the RE, including material approval and alternative design proposals
Bring design specifications or site-related issues to the attention of the RE for future design considerations
Enforce relevant Conditions of Contract, liaise with the Contractor's Site Agent, and keep all site documents updated
Ensure Contractor compliance with OHS, Road Traffic Acts, railway standards, and specifications
Monitor Environmental Management by the Contractor and communicate with local communities through the Community Liaison Officer
Coordinate the relocation of services with relevant service providers and actively participate in formal site meetings with the Contractor and Client

Skills & Experience:
10 years of Assistant Resident Engineer experience
Experience within the Civil, Road and Rail Infrastructure construction environment
Must have a strong technical background in rail infrastructure construction engineering, as well as excellent project management, communication, and problem-solving skills
Strong knowledge of Conditions of Contract and resolution of claims
Excellent leadership and teamwork skills are essential for success in this role
MS Office experience is essential
Managerial and communication skills
Must be able to work independently
Drivers License and own transport

Qualification:
BScEng, BEng or BEngTech in Civil Engineering or related field
Professionally registered with ECSA
Professionally registered with SACPCMP would be advantageous
