Our client in the Engineering Consulting industry is currently looking for an Assistant Resident Engineer, in Johannesburg, Gauteng.Responsibilities:

• Overseeing on-site technical operations, including roadworks, bridge construction, geometric control for pier and deck erection, and other engineering aspects.
• Coordinating with designers to address site engineering inquiries as needed.
• Reviewing and approving method statements.
• Engaging with the Contractor on technical matters.
• Managing certain resources for on-site supervision of technical aspects.
• Implementing the companys Quality Management System.
• Ensuring quality control through supervision of production processes, off-site, and remote construction or assembly activities.
• Tracking project schedules and contract budgets from a technical standpoint.
• Handling quantity assessments and payment certifications.
• Preparing variation orders.
• Completing project close-out, including final reports.
• Providing clear and well-structured responses to the Contractors technical queries.
• Promptly addressing all technical inquiries from the Contractor.
• Proactively resolving on-site technical challenges.
• Identifying and clarifying technical issues and discrepancies in the contract in a timely manner.
• Enhancing safety management through effective supervision.
• Ensuring the proper implementation and management of the Quality Acceptance Control system on-site.

• BSc Engineering/B. Engineering Degree.
• 5 to 12 years structural design.
• 3 years of supervision experience.
• Registered Professional Engineer (PrEng) (or soon to be registered) with the Engineering Council of South Africa
• Must be articulate in English.

• R1.4 R1.8 mil per annum.
