Job SummaryAssistant Restaurant Manager - Upmarket Restaurant, Cape TownAn upmarket restaurant in Cape Town is seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Restaurant Manager to support daily operations and ensure an exceptional dining experience. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader with a passion for hospitality, strong operational skills, and the ability to manage a high-performing team.Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Restaurant Manager in overseeing daily front-of-house and back-of-house operations.
• Lead and motivate the service team, ensuring exceptional customer service and a welcoming atmosphere.
• Manage staff scheduling, training, and performance to maintain service excellence.
• Monitor stock levels, assist with ordering, and ensure cost control.
• Handle guest relations, resolving any service issues efficiently and professionally.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards.
• Assist with marketing and promotions, including social media and special events.
• Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth communication and efficient service.
• Oversee cash-ups, financial reporting, and budget control as required.

Requirements:

• South African ID or valid work permit.
• Minimum 2-3 years' experience in a similar role within an upmarket restaurant.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire a team.
• Excellent knowledge of restaurant operations, service standards, and customer satisfaction.
• Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
• Well-presented with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
