:Assistant Technician Baggage- Peterson Grade C2An exciting vacancy exists at OR Tambo International Airport for Assistant Technician Baggage within Operations Management Division.Key Performance OutputThe successful candidate reporting to the Technician Baggage, will be responsible for but not limited to:

• Ensure availability, maintenance and safety of tools.
• Ensure implementation of continuous improvement of the equipment/infrastructure.
• Consult and give support in commissioning and testing of assets.
• Conduct studies and make recommendations on upgrades/replacements of assets.
• Adhere to relevant statutory/legislative regulations, SOP's, operational standards, policies and practices.
• Execute safe planned and unplanned maintenance activities.
• Monitor quality of maintenance work and escalate inefficiencies.
• Execute routine inspections on infrastructure.
• Utilisation of enterprised asset management system.
• Participate in root cause analysis.
• Execution of project deliverables.
• Provide input into project design.
• Provide input into incident reports.
• Identify and report possible efficiency enhancements and initiatives to ensure resource savings.
• Plan, schedule, supervise and coach subordinate activities within processes or services to achieve efficiency and quality goals.
• Assure stable employee relations by managing conflict and creating a positive working environment.
• Build, support and maintain healthy diverse internal (peers, unions, team) as well as external (service providers etc.) relationships and implement remedial actions where required to ensure achievement of organisational goals

Technical Skills and ExperienceThe following skills and experience or the equivalent of such will be required:

• National Certificate Technical, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil is essential.
• Relevant Trade Test is essential.
• 2 years' Operational maintenance experience is essential.
• 1- 2 years Supervisory experience is recommended
