Residential Operations
The Division of Residential Operations at Rhodes University invites suitably qualified candidates to join their team.
The Department
The Residential Operations Division is committed to providing a range of support services that enhance and complement the education experience of all students at the university.
We also commit ourselves to providing excellent hospitality and administration services to all internal and external customers of RU.
This is done through various services, including;
Food Services
Housekeeping Services
Conference and Events Services
Central Cleaning Services
Mail Room Services
Janitorial Services
Main Objectives
To work closely with the Director to provide effective and efficient personal administrative, project, and organisational support, which will enable the Director to effectively serve the University in the execution of responsibilities, duties, and tasks and to meet strategic objectives as well as to provide administrative and front-line service to the Office of the Director, Residential Operations Managers and other groups requiring services of the Residential Operations Division.
Requirements
A Bachelors Degree/Diploma (NQF level 7) plus 4 years relevant experience where such experience includes:
At least 1 year should be spent working with an individual at a senior level (e.g., HoDs, Directors, Hall Wardens, or a middle manager).
At least 3 years of previous administrative experience within a computerised environment where planning, coordinating, and executing administrative processes and where the job required a high degree of multi-tasking.
Previous experience in assisting with the planning, coordination, and executing of projects or events.
Administrative experience within a university and/or large-scale operational/service-orientated environment will be an advantage.
Previous experience handling queries (staff, members of the public, etc.).

The selection process that will be followed for this post will include an assessment and/or presentation and an interview.

Remuneration per annum (Grade 11):
Basic Pensionable Salary per annum: R401 952
Cost to Company per annum (Approximately): R539 645

This post is advertised as a permanent post, but the University may opt to appoint on a fixed-term contract of not less than three years
