CORE PURPOSE OF JOB
To facilitate and administer the learning process for students in modules presented by the School of Information
Technology at undergraduate level, to do research, contribute to community engagement and to be involved in the
core functions of the University.KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
xc3xafxe2x80x9axc2xb7 Facilitate learning at undergraduate level.
xc3xafxe2x80x9axc2xb7 Contribute to the creation of knowledge by virtue of postgraduate studies, publications and the supervision of
projects.
xc3xafxe2x80x9axc2xb7 Perform academic administration.
xc3xafxe2x80x9axc2xb7 Participate in projects targeted at community service and engagement.CORE COMPETENCIES
xc3xafxe2x80x9axc2xb7 Sound knowledge in the theory and application of and developments in information technology (hardware,
software, networks and operating systems).
xc3xafxe2x80x9axc2xb7 Ability to facilitate learning at undergraduate level, preferably in the areas of communication networking.
xc3xafxe2x80x9axc2xb7 Demonstrated networking skills with the potential to become CCNA certified.
xc3xafxe2x80x9axc2xb7 Ability to synthesise information to design learning experiences.
xc3xafxe2x80x9axc2xb7 Potential to contribute to research at a Postgrad Diploma level.
xc3xafxe2x80x9axc2xb7 Ability to communicate with a variety of audiences through various media.
xc3xafxe2x80x9axc2xb7 Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.REQUIREMENTS
Advanced Diploma / BTech / Postgraduate Diploma / Honours in Information Technology / Computing Sciences.
Masters degree in Information Technology / Computing Sciences would be an advantage.
Cisco certificates for CCNA 1 CCNA 4 will be an advantage.
Experience in which relevant competency has been gained will be an advantage.Nelson Mandela University reserves the right not to make an appointment.
