One of our clients, a mid-tier firm in the UK, is currently looking for an experienced and qualified Audit Senior to join their team based in South Africa.Location: Cape Town (Hybrid) or Johannesburg (Hybrid)Contract Term: 12 Month Annual Renewable ContractJob Overview:As an Audit Senior, you will manage, lead, and complete full audits from the planning phase through to the execution and finalization phases for various clients operating in multiple industries.Principal Objectives:

  • Directly liaise with client staff and establish strong relationships with them.
  • Manage the clientxe2x80x99s reporting requirements and ensure that any expectations and deadlines are met.
  • Prioritize and plan work to meet the expectations of the client, managing any conflicting pressures by making the best use of time and resources.
  • Work on complex and significant risk areas of the audit, prioritizing client work such that higher-risk or time-sensitive work is completed first.
  • Assist and deliver high-quality audit and accounts work on client engagements.
Key Tasks:
  • Attend and play an active role in client planning and close-down meetings.
  • Manage any manager and partner review slots and communicate progress made.
  • Build both an internal and external network of specialists.
  • Broaden your knowledge of the industry and proactively provide clients with timely insights and guidance.
  • Carry out and support transactional work, management of the WIP, and budgets.
  • Own and manage the engagement, including the budgeting process from start to finish.
  • Lead the day-to-day management of the field team, including reviewing the work of colleagues.
  • Delegate work to team members and work to develop and mentor junior staff.
  • Support the production of the management letter and other reporting requirements.
  • Own and review the financial statements.
  • Provide both formal and informal feedback to junior staff in a timely manner.
Key Tasks (General):
  • Comply with and promote all company employment policies and procedures.
  • Observe all health and safety procedures, ensuring a safe working environment and highlighting any issues as they are identified.
  • Ensure compliance with CPD requirements and proactively identify any training needs.
  • Proactively seek feedback from clients throughout the work youxe2x80x99re completing.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties as may be requested.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Qualified Chartered Accountant CA(SA) with at least 1 year post-article experience in external auditing within the private sector.
  • Working knowledge of UK and International GAAS, IFRS, UK GAAP and Financial Reporting requirements - Major plus.
  • Proven experience leading audit engagements and managing audit teams.
  • Experience supervising and coaching junior members of staff.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of current economic and market trends.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and team members.
  • Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving abilities.
